Žanamari Lalić

Žanamari Lalić (born September 8, 1981) is a Croatian pop-rock/alternative rock musician and singer-songwriter who is a lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the J'Animals, also known as the first winner of Hrvatski idol, Croatian equivalent of Pop Idol, in 2004.

Žanamari Lalić was born and raised in Makarska. She won the title of Miss Photogenic of Dalmatia in 2000. In 2001 she obtained a degree in management and moved to Germany, where she released a single "Feels like Heaven" in 2002. In 2003 she competed in Deutschland sucht den Superstar, a talent show by RTL Television, and made it to the Top 50.

After her success on RTL Televizija's talent show in Croatia, she competed in local music festivals, winning an award at Zadarfest 2004 for best performance and choreography. She was also in the Croatian Radio Festival 2005 with the single "Bar su suze besplatne", 2008 with "Bijela robinja" and 2009 with her most successful song "Crni leptire". She has competed in the HRT Dora Eurosong pre-selection in 2005, 2006, 2007.[1]

Her first solo album Žanamari was released in 2005 by Croatia Records.[2]

2008 - 2011 - Throughout the process of songwriting and creating a new, more alternative rock sound for the second album Druga vrsta (Different Kind), that's coming up in November 2011, Žanamari has gathered a new energetic, unrestrained rock'n'roll crew. J'Animals. Band members: Gordan Dragić - guitar (Skaut), Jura Geci - guitar (ex Voodoo Lizards), Emil Kranjčić - drums (Louder, Zebrax, ex Dead by Mistake), NIkola Vranić - keyboard (ex Voodoo Lizards, Sons on Guns), Sebastian Jurić - bass (Sane, Rokjor Soksof).

They released a video for their first single Nije napola in April 2011, then performed with their second single Oteti pa vraćeni at CMC Festival in June 2011, and with the third single Kreten pomalo they're planning to release the new album "Druga vrsta" under Croatia Records label by the end of October 2011.
